Ken Still - Miami Parkway and Tokyo Subway
Here is a world exclusive! I have uploaded a video to YouTube of "Miami Parkway", a selection from Ken Still's pending album, "The Whims of Chance". (Here's the complete url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDswb7ZVfIo&list=UU8RGBCkDXL7AKLRoNhlsc5A )
I botched the ending up a bit .... sorry! .... but the song does end abruptly.
The original is a .WAV file; I used the website http://media.io/ to convert it to an .MP3 file. (Probably unnecessary, but what do I know?)
Next I just used the Windows Live Movie Maker program to add some images to the soundtrack. These images are from http://www.wpclipart.com/ , which is a great source of copyright-free artwork.
Then I simply uploaded my newly created video to YouTube.
As always, feel free to feed the hungry bloggers by clicking here: http://adf.ly/vX93R . (You'll go thru an advertisment page, then arrive at a short "Thank You" post.)
P.S. - here's another song from Ken Still's pending album, "The Whims of Chance".
This one is Tokyo Subway , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmKLWX3QDXI .

Aretha Franklin (and Duane Allman)
I'm sure y'all have heard the Queen of Soul belt out "Respect" and "Think", but here are a few Aretha songs that you may not have come across yet:
"It Ain't Fair" - some great Duane Allman slide guitar work in the background
"The Weight" - another song featuring Duane's slide guitar
"Keep Me Hanging On"
Obviously Duane and Aretha made great music together. Duane seems to bring out the best of the folks he played with. For example, listen to this Wilson Pickett rendition of the famous Beatles song:
"Hey Jude"
As always .... please let me know if the AdFly links are too much of a nuisance. Screw it - I can't get these stupid AdFly links to work properly with YouTube, so I removed them. The links on this post all go directly to YouTube now.
If you'd like to have a few fractions of a penny go to the maintenace of this site, please click here: Thank you!

Aegis - Filipino Rockers
First, I want to notify one and all that I am trying something new here. I'm running my links thru AdFly, which means you'll see an ad on the way to whatever I'm directing you towards. PLEASE let me know in a comment if these ads are intolerable!
I've written about Aegis before, on PAA. Here are links to two of their songs on YouTube that I think are great hard-rockers:
Halik
Bakit
If you like this music, please consider buying it here: Aegis on Amazon.

If A Mom Sang "Let It Go"
This is great: a "Mom" version of "Let It Go" from Frozen. Anyone who's a parent can relate.

Here's another version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqqlylre2BU
While we're on the subject of "Let It Go" parodies, here a cool one titled "Let It Flow" that the ladies will appreciate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAUxC1xhpzA

Is This Guy For Real? (Biblical Prophecy in a GEICO Commercial?)
Here is a link to a YouTube video you might want to watch, but probably will NOT want to download to a MP3 file:
Taz Gives Bible Prophecy in Geico Commercial
What this lunatic, (or clever satirist), is claiming is that a recent GEICO commercial, (see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iETs2pOD0AU), contains biblical prophecy predicting the downfall of the United States.
Hmm ........
Kooks like this are amusing, in a sad and pathetic way, until they become violent. Further proof that what we call rationality is simply a thin veneer over wild raging passions.

Grateful Dead & Allman Brothers - That's Alright Mama
Here are some YouTube links for the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers, (probably just Dickey Betts), jamming on "That's Alright Mama" from 10/June/1973.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFmHhWiTjSs - that's the link I used. There's about 30 seconds of nonsense at the beginning and end.
In case that doesn't work, here are links for two more videos which are most likely the same song/performance:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agcFhOrKEeo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu_Mkadw0E4 - actually this may be the best version to use, as the nonsense at the end is cut off.
If you don't know how to download MP3 files from YouTube, read this article: Download MP3 Files for Free.

A Kuya Selection - Kung Fu Panda Finger Family
Our older son, ("Kuya", in Tagalog), made this selection.
If you have a child, you may know that there are many "Finger Family" videos out on YouTube. This particular one is based on the Kung Fu Panda.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arNH2mpQj-Q
If that's not enough "Finger Family" silliness for you, you can watch over 30 minutes of this nonsense at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdqMi4nnpqE . Ugh!

Robert Plant - New Version of 29 Palms Live (YouTube Link)
Here's a YouTube Link of a new version of 29 Palms Mr. Plant performed live in Austria back in 2006: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFapNUXkLrY .
It's not the greatest recording, and for part of it some silly lady is chirping in the background. But still, I've never heard the song performed like this. Cool, huh?

Best Way to Get Free Music!
Want to download MP3 music files for free? The best way I've found to do this is to go to YouTube, find the song you like, then use one of the many YouTube to MP3 converter sites to create an MP3 file and download it. (You can read more about this here: http://fullofknowledge.com/music/how-i-download-mp3-files-for-free/ .)
Currently the YouTube to MP3 converter site I use is http://www.youtube-mp3.org/. I've had no problems with it, (no viruses or malware installed on my PC, at least not yet!), but y'all should know by now that if you're downloading anything from the internet, you need to have anti-virus software installed and running.
In future postings on this blog I'm simply going to list cool, (at least to me!), songs I've found on YouTube that you can download too!
